Together we are a big extended family at GCWA. Our ‘home’ is the GCWA headquarters in Warwick Western Australia. In just over two years we’ve built an op shop, garden and play spaces for our grandchildren.
Our Warwick venue is also a drop off point for food and donations and the venue for our many evolving support events and services. We provide legal advice clinics, social worker services, recreation opportunities like yoga, meditation and fitness and importantly, just a place to be understood and have a cuppa and a chat.
Our facebook page is a great source of information and you can see lots of pictures there from our many community events. Our email and text services are also ways we let you know when there might be a donation on offer or space in one of our recreation classes or legal clinics.
Funded places in recreational camps are an opportunity for grandchildren to make friends with other grandparent led families in our community. Many grandparent carers are on tight or existence holiday spending budgets, so these camps are a highlight of the year.
